Interreg Italia-Malta 2014-2020

The Italy-Malta Programme is a cross-border Programme which covers the Maltese Islands and several regions in Sicily. This Programme aims to reinforce sustainable growth at the cross-border level with a particular focus on the Research & Innovation sectors, foster the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, protect the environment as well as promoting actions which mitigate the effects of climate change whilst also addressing the area’s natural and anthropic risks.
This Programme, which is co-financed under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), shall address the following thematic objectives:
     strengthening research, technological development and innovation
     enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs
     preserving and protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency
 
Beneficiaries
Local Authorities, Regional Authorities, District Authorities, SMEs, Graduates, Universities, Research Institutes, NGOs, Innovative Clusters, Micro Enterprises, Port Authorities, Public Administration and Entrepreneurs.  
 
Partner Organisations
Partners from the cross border area will be required. Modalities to be defined.
 

INTERREG V-A Italy-Malta Programme – First Call for Proposals and Information Session

 




 
 
 
 
As the Maltese National Contact Point of the 2014-2020 Territorial Cooperation Programmes, including the INTERREG V-A Italy-Malta programme, the Funds and Programmes Division (FPD) within the Parliamentary Secretariat for the EU Presidency 2017 and EU Funds, MEAIM, would like to announce that the first call for project proposals under this Programme is currently open and it shall remain open until 1400hrs of the 8th November 2016.
 
 
The Italy-Malta Programme is a cross-border programme implemented between Sicily and Malta. It aims at reinforcing smart and sustainable growth at cross border level with particular focus on the specialization in R&I sectors, fostering competitiveness in small and medium-sized enterprises, protecting the environment and enhancing actions to mitigate the effects of climate change together with the natural and anthropic risks of the area.  This programme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and has a total ERDF budget of €43,952,171 in ERDF for the 2014-2020 period and covers the following thematic objectives:
 
 
     Strengthening research, technological development and innovation;
     Enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs;
     Preserving and protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency.
 
 
This call for proposals, which has a budgetary allocation of €32,404,019.90, has been issued across all axes of the programme (with the exception of a small number of specific objectives).   All the necessary documentation and information can be found on the following link on the Italia-Malta site:
 
 
 
The launch event of the call for proposals 1/2016 for the presentation of cooperation projects using a “one step” procedure under Priority Axes I, II, III will be held in Catania - “Le Ciminiere” – Area Congressuale – Sala C3 on 12th October 2016. Another launch event will be held in Malta the next day, 13th October, 2016.  Venue for the latter event will be notified in due course. Any interested participants are kindly requested to register by filling in the registration form and send it by email to  maria.c.falzon@gov.mt by not later than Monday 10th of October 2016 at noon.
 
 
The FPD encourages participation by Maltese entities and extends its availability in assisting any prospective applicant or interested party.
