Technical Assistance Information Exchange Office [TAIEX] of the European Commission DG Enlargement

TAIEX is a Commission Office and is part of the Directorate-General Enlargement of the European Commission. It was set up in 1996.

TAIEX aimed to provide New Member States, Candidate Countries, Potential Candidate Countries, European Neighbourhood Policy Countries and Russia with short-term technical assistance on transposition, implementation and enforcement of the entire Community Acquis, including the necessary administrative infrastructure.

TAIEX worked on a demand driven basis and aimed to transfer tailor-made expertise drawn from officials in all public and semi-public bodies from the older Member States to their counterparts in the Beneficiary Countries in all fields relevant to the Acquis at a short notice.
