Maltese Parliament
Stefan Zrinzo
Azzopardi, husband and father of two children, graduated from the University of
Malta as a lawyer, in 1999, whereby he has practised particularly in commercial
and civil law since the year 2000. Stefan has been involved in the Labour Party
since 1996, contributing to the media department of the Party, as well at the local level. In 2003, Stefan had been elected as a President of the Labour Party, only
at the age of 30, whereby he had been involved towards various reforms within
the Party structure, highlighting the introduction of the new statute in 2008.
In May 2013 he was
nomintaed as a Chairman of the Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation and held
this post till January 2020. Under his watch, the Corporation was responsible
for the compeletion of the projects designed by Architect Renzo Piano, namely
the entrance of the Capital City Valletta and the new Parliament, and later on
Castille Square. The same Corporation oversaw an EU funded regeneneration
project in lower Valletta.
In June 2017 Stefan
was elected as a Member of Parliament, on the 5th electoral District. He has
since then servedas the Chairman on the Adjunct Consideration of Bills
Committee and a substitute Member on the Foreign and European Affairs
Committee. He also forms part of the delegation to the Council of Europe
Parliamentary Assembly.
On the 15th January
2020, Stefan was appointed Parliamentary Secretary responsible for EU Funds
within the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
