Keith Azzopardi Tanti - Minister MFDC

 

Keith Azzopardi Tanti is Malta’s Minister for European Funds, Social Dialogue, and Consumer Protection, a role he assumed following the May 2026 general election.

Born on March 17th 1984, Keith Azzopardi Tanti holds a degree in Economics and Management from the University of Malta and is ACCA qualified. His professional career in finance includes roles in commercial banking, the National Statistics Office, and as Financial Controller at the Malta Financial Services Authority, specializing in international taxation.

His political journey began in 2013 when he was elected Mayor of Tal-Pietà, securing re-election with increased support in 2019. Transitioning to national politics in the March 2022 general election, he successfully contested the First District on his first attempt and was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research, and Innovation within the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research, and Innovation.

With over a decade of public service spanning local government and national executive appointments, as minister he now leads key portfolios focused on maximizing EU funding opportunities, enhancing social dialogue, and safeguarding consumer rights.
